The Amsterdam public Library is constantly seeking to improve its services to this important client group.
The Visually Disabled
A dedicated internet terminal for the use of the visually disabled is situated in the Buitenveldert branch of the Amsterdam Public Library. This computer is equipped with a voice synthesiser and enlargement software.
Talking newspapers and periodicals are available via: www.anderslezen.nl
Collections of Large Print books and Talking books are also fully available.
The Physically Disabled
Most branches of the Amsterdam Public Library are accessible with wheelchairs and walking frames and the New Central Library will have improved access for wheelchair users.
