Wireless internet
Wireless Internet is now available in the Amsterdam central public library in a protected mode. The unprotected mode is soon available. This mode is not hacker proof, but once registered the system automatically encrypts documents making it safe from the unauthorised, and recognises your signature with subsequent use. It is our intention to gradually refine the system, ultimately to serve four main user groups:
- Guest users, (non library members) who may only Internet in protected mode.
- Amsterdam Library members, may Internet and access the Virtual Library databases.
- Library members outside Amsterdam, access available via Inter-Library agreement.
- Students may access the same Internet facilities as available at their University.
