Instituto Cervantes │ Flamenco Queer - ‘Azúcar pa' tu cuerpa’

Instituto Cervantes proudly presents: the project ‘Flamenco Queer’ with dancer Rubén Heras and guitarist Jero Férec and as special guest singer Soleá Gollás.
“Flamenco Queer'' was born in October 2019 as a result of the work of London-born guitarist Jero Férec and dancer Rubén Heras from Badalona. Rubén and Jero explore traditional flamenco using identity and inclusion as their starting point. Inspired by the confluence of queer and minority communities with flamenco and drag that took place in the ‘Raval’ and ‘Poble-Sec’ districts of Barcelona in the early 1900’s ‘Flamenco Queer - Azúcar pa' tu cuerpa’offers a dynamic and aesthetically unique show experience, highlighting the importance of intersectional representation both on and off-stage, giving visibility to the presence and contributions of queer artists in both historical and contemporary flamenco culture. Special guest is singer Soleá Gollás.
