Europe Direct Information Point
EUROPE DIRECT is an information network across Europe, designed to answer all citizens' needs concerning the European Union (EU). It is a project supported by the European Commission to enable local citizens to obtain information, advice, assistance and answers to questions about the EU.
Moreover, the network actively promotes local and regional debates about the EU and its policies. It is aimed at helping the European institutions to improve the dissemination of information and gives the public the opportunity to send feedback to the EU instutions.
There are about 500 EUROPE DIRECT information centers in the European Union, 15 of them in the Netherlands. One of them is located in and run by the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam (OBA).
