Featuring - among others - works by Offenbach and Rossini, two composers with a renowned love for fine food and wine, the programme goes from opera to Lied, from oratorio to chanson, and takes the audience through a fully-sung menu. Conviviality and sharing are the keywords of this performance, in which French soprano Agathe Labadie and Belgian pianist Pieter Bogaert share their artistry with humour and enthusiasm. From the shy maid attempting to boil eggs, to the eccentric grande dame who drank just a little bit too much, the delightful characters of this programme will captivate you. Agathe and Pieter met in 2022 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam around Lied repertoire, which they are both particularly fond of. Together, they have performed Strauss and Schubert at the International Lied Festival in Zeist.
